Spain was the favourite at the start of Euro 2012 to win the title and it looks like they may do just that. The Spaniards have made it to the Euro 2012 Finals and they’ll be playing against the Italians this Sunday (July 1st 2012). Both of these squads have played a similar style in the tournament, but Spain has been catching a lot of criticism for not attacking enough.
Everyone knew that Italy would need to play defence first in order to qualify, but even with their defensive style of play nobody expected them to win their semi-finals match against Germany. Italy played great in the match and Balotelli scored 2 goals to tie several other players at 3 goals. If Balotelli can score in the finals he will most likely win the Euro 2012 Golden Boot.
These two played each other in their 1st match of the group stage in Group C. The pace was slow and benefiting Italy early on. In the 61st minute Di Natale broke the deadlock with a goal, but it only took Fabregas 3 minutes to equalize for Spain. Both of the teams settled for a 1-1 draw in the match and I expect another close low scoring match in the Euro 2012 Finals.

Spain vs. Italy Finals Predictions
I have to admit that I’m not a fan of the way Spain has played. I don’t like their formation, as it doesn’t allow them to attack. The Spaniards may possess the ball a lot, but when they don’t attack it doesn’t help that much. Llorente still hasn’t seen action in the tournament and he was expected to be a Golden Boot contender. They should give him some time in the 1st half in the finals.
The Azurri came out attacked with their midfield and wings in the semi-finals match-up and I think I they can do that again they’ll be able to generate some early 1st half scoring chances. Balotelli will definitely be getting the start again with Cassano and these two may be able to break the ice within the 1st 30 minutes of the match like they did against the Germans.
This match is difficult to predict in my opinion, as you don’t know how Spain will play. If they play like they have been I don’t like their chances against a confident Italian team that is fresh off beating Germany 2-1. Buffon has done his job well in net for Italy and if this match comes down to penalty kicks I think the Italians have a great shot at winning like they did against England.
Betting on the 1×2 market is difficult, but I think the draw at 3.30 is the best bet for the Euro 2012 Finals. I also like the exactly 2-3 goals bet at 2.00 odds (Bet365) because I can see this match finishing 1-1 after 90 minutes. The extra goal gives us insurance in case one of the two squads scores a late goal to win in regulation.
For the Italians to have a chance at winning the Euro 2012 Finals Balotelli needs another great game. Bet365 is paying 4.00 on Balotelli to score anytime right now and those odds won’t last long. Bet365 also has the 0-0 bore moneyback promo on this match, so if the match is 0-0 after 90 minutes the Balotelli bet is refunded. Not too many promos have been announced quite yet, but I’ll make sure I update this page once more have.
